1. Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how Imposter: Party Game (“the App”) handles privacy.
The App is a party game for local play. Core gameplay does not require an account, online multiplayer services, advertising trackers, or user-related data collection.
The optional Custom Category with AI feature requires an internet connection. When you use that feature, the App sends the topic, optional description, and selected language you provide to our backend so we can request generated category content from OpenAI.
2. Information We Collect
We do not require you to provide personal information through the App.
The App does not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, location data, contacts, photos, Apple's Identifier for Vendor (IDFV), or gameplay history.
If you use Custom Category with AI, the App processes the category topic, optional description, and language preference you enter for the purpose of generating a custom word category. You should not include sensitive or personal information in custom category prompts.
3. Local Gameplay and AI Category Generation
Standard gameplay happens locally on your device. Words, settings, player choices, and game activity used during normal gameplay are not sent to us.
Custom Category with AI is different because it needs online processing to generate the requested content. We transmit your custom category request to our backend and then to OpenAI. Our backend handles this request only to return the generated category to the App.
If the App saves basic preferences on your device, those preferences remain on your device and are not transmitted to us.
4. No Accounts
The App does not require users to create an account, sign in, or provide personal details.
5. Firebase Analytics, Ads, and Tracking
The iOS app uses Firebase for analytics to understand aggregate app usage and reliability.
We do not use Firebase Analytics to collect user-related data, and we do not collect Apple's Identifier for Vendor (IDFV).
The App does not use advertising networks, tracking technologies, or third-party tracking SDKs.
We do not track users across apps or websites.
6. Third-Party AI Processing
Custom Category with AI is powered by OpenAI. When you use this feature, your topic, optional description, selected language, and the generated response are processed through OpenAI's services.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. We do not store custom category inputs or generated category results on our servers. OpenAI may process feature requests according to its own privacy practices. You can review OpenAI's Privacy Policy at https://openai.com/policies/privacy-policy.
7. Children’s Privacy
The App does not knowingly collect personal data from children or any other users.
The App is intended for general entertainment and local group play. Children should use the App with permission and supervision from a parent or guardian where required.
8. App Store and Apple Services
If you download the App through the Apple App Store, Apple may process certain information related to your download, purchase, device, or App Store account according to Apple’s own privacy practices.
We do not receive your App Store payment details.
9. Data Requests
Since we do not store custom category inputs or generated results on our servers, we do not have that information to access, correct, export, or delete.
If you contact us directly by email, we will only use your email address and message content to respond to your request.
10. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page.
If the App’s privacy practices change in the future, this Privacy Policy will be updated to reflect those changes.
